How to Use the Doikayt Seder Plate:
This seder plate does not have the traditional symbols you would expect. Instead, it leaves a space for the participants (YOU) to fill in the blanks with new objects of meaning.
Think about the items in front of you. What themes of Passover do they represent? How can they add to our current understanding of the seder? As a group, arrange your table’s seder plate to tell a story of Passover as you see it today. To give you some help, there are cards with suggested themes that you can match with the objects. If something is missing, feel free to draw or write it in. Add as much or as little as you’d like - its all up to you.
To Print:
The plate is 30" x 30" but can be scaled to smaller sizes to fit your table. To print full size, use Adobe Acrobat. Select Print, and under "page scaling" change "fit to printable area" to "tile all pages" - this will print the plate onto several 8.5 x 11 sheets that can be fit together to make the full size.
You can also bring the file to most Kinko's, where a large black and white printer can print the entire sheet for about $6.
