From the Introduction:
The Jewish people have observed peysakh more than 3,000 years. People in all places and times have taken strength from the Passover story, which affirms that liberty is the undeniable right of every human being. For as long as one person is oppressed, none of us are free.
This 2009 Doikayt Supplemental Hagode (Haggadah) is our gift to you. The word Haggadah means ‘telling’ in Hebrew. We are about to begin telling the story of peysakh, or Passover, the Festival of Freedom.
On the following pages, you will find ways to bring Doikayt to your family Seder. Sing these songs, share these images, and ask these questions around your own table. You will also find information on the artists involved in this Seder, and the many people and organizations that planned and hosted Doikayt 2009.
